Four custom duct tape guitar straps, by Forrest Andresen are also going to be raffled. Umm.. I spoke to my dad today, and I think we have to be a business before we can hold a raffle. I guess they are pretty strict about it. Maybe we can get KMXT to represent us or something. I'll talk to my dad more on like Sunday.. tomorrow being prom and all.

Bah, raffle laws. Religious groups of more than 10 years can have raffles, Organizations that have existed for three years can hold raffles, and some student bodies can, too. You can have two raffles a year but not two at the same time, and the money can't be used for profit. I suppose we are doing this for the chmaber of commerce so we should ask them to help.
I don't think these laws apply to split the pot raffles.

In detail: The organizations that are allowed to hold raffles are churches, synagogues or other religious societies in existence for 10 years; volunteer fire departments; volunteer emergency medical services; certain nonprofit organizations in existence for three years; and certain student organizations.
Assuming you fit into one of these groups, you may conduct a raffle, but as you may expect, there are many rules you must satisfy. You may conduct no more than two raffles per year and only one at a time. All proceeds must be spent for charitable purposes. You may not advertise the raffle.
The raffle must be local only. The prize cannot be money, nor may it exceed $50,000 in value. You must print the name of the organization, the ticket price and a description of the prize on the raffle ticket. Nonmembers cannot sell raffle tickets. Also, the person named or hired to run the raffle may not be paid for the services that are rendered.
Holding an illegal raffle is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine, unless your group is found to have also illegally promoted the raffle, in which case it could be a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a $4,000 fine.
I do not know which of these laws apply to alaska or if there are any more. We need to ask someone...

Whenever you have any legal questions, ask me and I can relay the question to my father who has a valid juris doctorate in two states, and therefore can answer most of our questions, devoid of legal fees.

No, because it's free legal advice. Or did you not understand "devoid?" Or did I use it improperly?

I'll see what I can dig up. My dad's done a buncha raffles in the past with the Knights of Columbus and other things through St. Mary's so I'm sure he can help somehow, or point me to someone who could tell me more.
