okay. it has been adressed in several threads that we obviously have a shortage of talented/productive bands. i propose an idea that we create one. here and now. we know everybody on this forum has some form of musical talent and for the most part lots of incentive. i will be willing to play if i am needed, but we just need some band to do a sort of headlining for any future shows to draw in the crowd. alot like greater cause used to do when they were still playing at the high school shows. brainstorm any ideas and such. i believe logan would be willing to play drums, and if not ethan pinto is always a very good option.

hmm, well i have a couple ideas for bands to start when i get back. namely time for tea. now i don't know about max, i haven't talked to him since i left, is he still interested in time for tea at all? also i'd like to start a reggae/ska band and play covers or something. that'd be a big band, but we need brass players, a key boardist, and percussion. speaking of ethen pinto i believe a while back i promised him a spot in a band that played the pumpkins, but i don't know who'd be interested in that. i also figured i'd play bass for you ryan in yaefer: the band.

We also have the newest Metal band, Blood Wagon I believe is their current name, I can't remember though. I believe the current lineup is Justin Leedy, Alex Jones, Jackson.. (last name here), and Andy Banker. That's about our closest thing to a super band currently... I think the Metal is a catchy genre for a headlining band.. especially the power metal.. it's just.. something everybody can enjoy. But I'm not sure what you had in mind.

That's Leedy's other band. It's just Him, Banker, and Sam Catt. I'm not really sure why there are 2 of the same band, with more or less the same members. That is something you would have to ask them about.

well if you ask me, kodiak needs something different. i don't know what or who, but something that just kind of throws a curve ball out there. like funk.polka or something.

I agree, and i have to disagree with Forrest about his little comment on Metal. Sorry to break it to you that not everyone enjoys metal, everyone is unique in their tastes, Kodiak needs something NEW and exciting...

yes. something different. i liked jackson and alex's metal band much better when its name was wall of doom. it just sounded cooler. but the regae band sounds like it would be awesome, and finding brass wouldnt be too hard i suppose.

SKA RULES! we have jokingly started a ska band or two but i would be willing to play in a ska/reggae band (for reals). Also sampson neslund would be an exelent saxophone player to recruit if sombody took the enitiative to start one.

Dude, FUNK-METAL. Think about it. With like, slap bass, high-speed solos, a trumpet section, three chicks singing backup vocals, and insane double-bass, the awesomeness would flow.

ehh, maybe funk hard rock like what rage against the machine did (i love those guys) but funk and metal songs are written differently so trying to put them together wouldn't sound right. funk is about accenting the first beat and playing some accented up beats while metal focus more on straight forward pounding.
but yeah i'm game for funk/reggae/ska.

I'm not talking about taking the whole styles and forcing them together. You have to be strong but gentle. And remember not to make a mess.
