Okay, we've all been talking about "let's have a show" or "lets do a bla bla bla" or whatever. Well, being the random personality I am, I took what you would least expect form me: SOME INITIATIVE. Observe: So I was skipping Anatomy & Physiology and wanderign around when I saw Molly Carver and Mr. Meade talking, and decided I'd join in on their conversation. I got this great idea, right there, that we should have a live show in the high school, and used my wasted time skipping for soemthing useful. Here's the thing. I have never organized a large event such as this, and Mr. Meade talks and gets off on tangents a lot, so we got about this far in an hour: I should come talk to him more some other time. Anywa, the point is, I am trying to get a show-esque-thing started, except I don't know what to do. I have Rachel's help and Schmitt's (I think?) so uhh.. anybody who wants to help.. drop me a line. I don't need an army but maybe 1 or 2 mroe people would be good. Maybe someone else involved in the music scene here would be good. I have mentioned this in like 3 othe rplaces, but this is the actual thread specifiacally for it.

yeah, i figure my help goes without saying...
here's a plan of action.
-set the date. this is the most important thing. we can't be like jlo and keep saying it's happening, telling people to practice, but keep pushing the date back, and then finally just cancel. set the date and get the word around to the bands so they can start getting ready.
-get the equipment. find out what the needs of the bands are and where you can borrow/rent/buy equipment for the show. you'll need a good loud pa, and a good drumset and good mics.
-set up the equipment. this goes without saying. the day before set up the risers. i figure it'll probably be set up like the sofa kings show with the risers up by the benches OR down on the floor like what greater cause did. i vote the latter because you don't want to be that high aboev the crowd making them crane their necks and hate you for acting like a god or something.
the day of the show. get there in the morning. have bands start coming in around 9:00 or 10:00 am to help set up. you need to get the pa set up and have the people there who are operating the pa so they know which mic is which and what to do. arrange the equipment so it sounds the best. this is important because bad placement can destroy a show wehn all you hear is the drums and vocals. make sure the guitars are balanced on each side and stuff. micing amps may be neccissary.
other things: keep the people happy while setting up byhaving lunch and snack available to them. keep the crowd happy by having the khs music dept. sell food and drinks as a fundraiser. don't charge too much if anything at all at the door.
i think that's about it. that's just all my advice and stuff from setting up shows with hot wire and helping greater cause. i can set things up to make live recordings of the show if anyone wants that. i guess the last and most important thing is have fun. i'll add more if i think of it.

See, that's what I need someone here for. I'll be blunt: I haven't the faintest clue how to set up a stage for a live performance. I know about two things: my amp, and my amp alongside other amps. Other than that, I need someone HERE who can help me with this. That, or maybe you'll be up here in time. It's doubtful that it will be before christmas, and finals week is bad for obvious reasons. Myself and presumably Rachel and Schmitt, who I belive sort of volunteered wil probably go talk to Senor Meade tomorrow or some such thing.

You know who you should talk to about PA stuff? Everyone's favorite Teuton, Valentin! The dude knows his stuff. You could ask him about at the next Aryan nations meeting, Forrest.

Who exactly are you Tucker? Did you go to high school here? When did you graduate? Do you, perhaps, have a full name?

Who exactly are you Tucker? Did you go to high school here? When did you graduate? Do you, perhaps, have a full name? These are questions we all hold inside and wait to patiently for the answers to present themselves. Tucker will tell us when time is right, and it is insulting and almost blasphemous to ask him to condescend to fit into our mortal time system. Shame on you, Forrest.
