Yaefer and I were discussing the concert that I am trying to get put on (tenatively scheduled for Jan 22) and we started discussing admission. We decided we should set up some sort of "Music Community Fund" or whatever and keep it in a bank account (details can be worked out later) for overhead charges of future shows. It can be used to cover PA rentals, Venue rentals, whatever. We just made this up like 5 minutes ago, so input would be delicious.

As I've stated before(but you've never approached me about it....) I'm willing to do what I can to help, but for the most part, I won't be able to give any sort of monetary contributions.

I wont be getting people to help with setup until a week or two before the show, son't feel left out. I am not looking for monetary contributions, I should have made that clear. What Yaefer and I came up with is this: -Concerts have a modest entrance fee, which goes into the fund
-Acoustic shows- tips you receive go ino the fund
-Any other shows- see above
We can't take your money from you, but it would be cool if you all made contributions based on any money you earn from shows you do. Obviously, if you do some solo stuff, you might want to keep some of it. Whatever. Any help you can give would be cool. Also, as far as the bank account, give input. We need to have a place for money to go and a way to regulate it before we worry about where the money comes from.

well, making any account for it would be possible, all we have to do is just go to the bank...and make an account. so as soon as we get about $100, we can just make the account, and we'd have to set up one person who controls the account, makes deposits, invests in popular national stocks and illict drug/slave trades....you know, the usual.

You should get someone who's 18 to handle all the money, it's less of a hassle to get stuff that way, and I would recommend Wells Fargo for a bank, it's a good bank that won't screw ya over, and if it matters, they have decent enough interest rates.

Banks as a general rule don't screw people over... they sort of, you know, go bankrupt if they do. Andy, stop posting here. You have nothing to contribute. No offense or anything, just stop.

Respecting Forrest's wishes I won't post here any longer, but I feel the need to clarify myself about the bank. What I meant about the bank "screwing you over" was that all of the people that I've met that work there are nice courteous, nothing they do is unreasonable and they are generally fairly flexible.

but they bought bank of alaska, therefore they suck, because now we don't have a bank with our state's name in it, like almost every other state.
