i love this band. they just released their debut album in the u.s. a while ago. before you could only order it from iceland. i'm also looking forward to the new album coming out from them, see what it's like. i'd have to say my favorite is Ágætis Byrjun though.

Maybe I should. Maybe I shouldn't. I'm just messing with you man, as soon as I remember I'll send it to you. What that means is that when I'm in college unpacking in my first home away from home, I'll find it and mail it to you because I will rule enough to already have a CD copy.

holy fuck, it was amazing. can you say drums? the drums were so powerful. they miced the kick and put an ass load of bass on it that shook the concert hall. they played two new songs off the new album due out in september (which has been leaked on the internet) give me high hopes. they sounds pretty rocking but have not lost that sigur ros touch in creating them. during untitled #1 (aka "vaka") some crazy girl got up on stage and started dancing. she was definitely on something. jonsi had to stop singing from laughing. the opening act, amina, was quite awesome as well. they played a lot of different instruments including a saw and counter bells that played different notes. they also featured an ibook which gave them backing. amina is the string quartet that play alongside sigur ros through most of their songs.the opening and closing songs were very cool as a veil was over the stage and then fog filled it up and lights cast their sillouhettes onto it to make it look like they were floating. the last song, agaetis byrjun (track 9 on agaetis byrjun) was intense. i was jealous because i wanted to be up there making music just like that. the climaxes in every song were incredible, but agaetis byrjun in particular was just so amazing. the term "wall of sound" comes to mind. but yeah... i've never seen a show like that before. i feel like things for me in the future are a little more clear because i have a better idea of how i want to make music. i don't plan on making this the last time i see sigur ros live as well as the first. you haven't heard the band until you've heard them live.
on a side note, the people there seemed interesting. a lot of hipsters. but it seemed like there were a lot of cool people too. i ran into my english teacher from first semester as well, that was pretty cool. but yeah, i can't wait to see them again.

i guess while they were in hawaii, the drummer and his girlfriend got married. the only people at the ceremony were them and the priest.
also, i'm going to see them again, but this time tim is going with me. we're going to catch them in vancouver in september.
