It's called "spluttering." You start on one note, go up to the fifth, back to the first note, up to the octave, and then back down to the root. Then you move it up a semitone and do it again.

That's a good warm up, but sometimes I wish Petal would have us do more than just that. What's wrong with sixths?

That's what I do for ear-training. I do every interval, starting with minor seconds and going up to major sevenths. I'm not saying I could sing them effectively, but when you know what each interval sounds like it's a lot easier to pick them out on recordings.

Oh, I want to go do that now. I think I'm going to go make myself practice hard for a little while.

excellent idea, who'sever it was It was my idea. One day, I was warming up by spluttering and I asked myself why I was only using fifths. I recommend it highly, I noticed improvement in my improvising and my hearing accuracy very quickly after starting it regularly.

I just stretch, or do some combination or counter attack techniques. Man, that looks almost impressive when written down....

I don't play any instruments nor do I sing (well).
However, I still get exercise because whenever any song that I like comes on the radio, I dance. And whenever I play records, I dance. This goes on almost every day.

Yeah, you start moving around in abnormal ways to what can seem like no reason. It's silly. Imagine what the hearing deprived think.
