I'm not going to deny it. In the sense that I use the word "emo," the Deftones are not "emo." In the sense of the term "emotional," the Deftones are indeed "emo." Their lyrics are meaningful, and therefore often times emotional. Not the other way around.

well the genre term "emo" refers to "emotional hardcore" which the deftones are emotional and pretty hardcore when compared to "emo". in the 90's the deftones were actually considered by many to be emo. my, how times have changed.

I suppose your right. Whatever. I still like them. When I use the term "emo" I use it to describe the new pop-punk crap that sucks.

i use emo to describe almost all rock that sucks. so in my definition of emo, the deftones are extremely emo

Deftones never really meshed with my style. They're much talented than a lot of bands out there tho.
