I've been listening to a lot of Engine Down on this trip and my admiration and appreciation for them has really gone up. I enjoy every aspect of that band, not just the guy's voice or the drums or the guitar or whatever like in a lot of other bands I listen to, they're just generally awesome. Anyway, I can't really get all technically into it like all you real musicians, but they're a great band and I think they deserve to have a thread still.
Anyway, proceed, all you Engine Down fans.

I can't say I'm a fan really, but I like their music. I'd pay for the cd.

i was listening to some tonight. their tour is starting. i wish i could see them, but oh well.. i found keeley davis's design site and stuff. that'd be cool if he did web design for a band i was in some day. also, i guess he and cornbread have been playing a bit. who knows, maybe they'll pick up where engine down left off.

Cornbread and Keeley were the backbone. I'm not very upset Engine Down is breaking up. They seemed to be heading in a different direction than one I'd follow as much as I have.

Yeah, kind of. I'm still on Viekoda Bay. Time on the internet out here is limited because I'm supposed to be working when I'm not sleeping or in the skiff.

I'm going to try and go to the Engine Down concert in Richmond, VA Sept. 9th. I haven't actually been to any "real" concerts except this semi-famous band in Germany last summer. I'm very excited.

you saw the defacadets too. that concert is twice as special, since it was our debut concert and our farewell concert.

I'm at least making a modest effort to find an Engine Down cd to buy sometime soon.

if you feel the need to give somebody money for you to listen to engine down, ill burn you a cd and you can pay me for it. $12 would be a lot more usefull to me than to lovitt records.

I would recommend Demure, but other assholes might recommend To Bury Within the Sound. The self-titled is pretty good (they abandoned 5:4 timing completely, the bastards) with a few songs that still make me say wow. In your search, would you mind letting me know if you come across the Sign of Breath EP? I need to get a hold of that.

I love aaaalllll of them. I don't really have a favorite CD, just favorite songs. Songbird, Intent to Pacify, Etcetra, many others. My iPod is FINALLY working again so I think I'm going to go grab it and listen to them. It's been about three weeks... aaahh.

They play tomorrow night in Seattle. My would-be last chance to see them.
It's a little painful.

I wish I wasn't drunk at their last show in Seattle. But then I guess I wouldn't have had the gall to walk into their backstage room. Ah
