My JCM-900 50w combo amp sounds like yuck. Leedy has me convinced I need new Power Tubes. I have no clue what ones to buy, what ones are good, or anythign liek that. Leedy, I mgiht just have you come to my house and take a look at it and switch out your tubes to see if that's the problem. I guess this is mainly directed at Leedy, but if the tubes are indeed the problem I either need ot pay him for his or buy some. I can post all the specs on my amp if somebody needs to know in order to help me.

The 900s are tricky, man, because in the mid '90s Marshall switched from EL-34 power tubes to 5881 tubes because their manufacturer went out of business and they couldn't find a high-quality replacement manufacturer of EL-34s. Most 900s are 5881, but mine has EL-34s so I don't know. I'm pretty sure yours has 5881s because they only made EL-34 equipped 900s for a couple years and the rest were 5881. Give me the serial number so I can find out what year yours was made and get the appropriate info. They switched in '93 sometime, but mine was made in January of that year and has the old tubes so you never know. It might not even be the tubes, you might just have a bad connection somewhere. It sounds pretty close to the same if you have a bad connection or blown tubes.
