I think instead of deleting posts, they should just edit out the bad stuff. I have already seen several threads where someone posted something, then people replied to it, then a mod/admin deleted the post that started it all. This messes me up because in some occasions people are replying to the post and it makes me so lost because I have no idea whats going on since somone posted something, people replied, but there was no post they were replying too :\ I'm not sure if these forums support it, but a good ol' thread split would rock in these positions. (It cuts a thread into two separate threads, such as if half the thread was about one discussion, then someone posted something offtopic, then everyone started posting after that, the thread could be split)
Or, if the offending person(s) posted like 50 posts in a row, about nothing, than go ahead, delete them.
I hope you get my point.

yes it is confusing, but certain things that have been posted lately couldnt really be cleaned up much at all. alot of editing has been done, and we'll try to keep deleting to a minimum.

the problem is we are doing both. i don't mind offensive language, nor do the others, but somethings are just.not.fly. i mean yes, it is the internet, yes they are just words, but words are still powerful. words have changed history and the future. we will figure something better out, but for now, this stuff just doesn't belong here.

a lot of the delete of random posts has been by me. if i got into the post your pic thread, and i see a comment about a picture ill keep moving on, but when 2 people keep going back and forth, i will delete the further posts. if you wish to continue to talk about something with a nother board member that is not on topic with the thread you are in, you can do the following:
1) learn to use the pm funtion 2) tell them to move to the random post thread to continue the convo
simple as that, becuase as much as you might think its harmless, no one else wants to sit and read two people going back and forth. this is gonna keep happening, which to a point, is fine. i do it, ande does it, everyone does it. but when its seen, it will be cleaned up.

Question: Do these forums have the thread split feature I talked about earlier? (I'm not saying that this should be used in those situations, just asking, but if the conversations were with like 3 or more people thats when the feature should be used)

I've seen alot of threads that progress outside the original topic and need to be split. That way, the original subject is preserved, but people still get to talk about whatever they were talking about when it was split.

yeah, i don't think these servers have an option for that. we can even move individual posts in a thread, just the thread itself.

Or, folks could not be lazy and go and make their own threads pertaining to the conversation, as I did when going from "Emo sucks and metal rules" to "Metal: A Discussion." This is the first time I've seen these feedback forums and I'm going to attempt to actually give good feedback. So there.
