really on island your best bet would be hanging out at the radio station or something. i'm looking at schools for college, and having some trouble at that. too many discisions and pros and cons to be weighed. too many what if's. but anyway, really there's not much you can do on kodiak. just kind of study on your own and pick things up from people you meet. i think i recall andy nault talking about how he'd like to start a class at the college in the future and how cool that'd be.
but yeah, there's really not much except for hobbiests.

Andy, KMXT is ALWAYS looking for volunteers. My family has the Saturday night Rock'n'roll show once every other week, Kalsin usually runs it, and if you ask Kalsin he might be willing to let you come in. Or, you could contact the radio station independently, and get some volunteer trainining, do a few shows with womoene, then maybe have your own show. That's my bit for that.

Andy, call KMXT. I know you haven't because I know how you are. Call them, just do it. They will be more than happy to train you.

There is no better school, than the school of hard knocks!
What exactly do you want to learn? Anybody can run a mixer, but it takes a truely talented person to mix music...
I've been mixing/recording/etc for several years and it's all built on a few simple priniciples. PM me if you want to know more...

andy, if you want some of the best training for working with sound, timing, tuning, and everything else to do with it (from how to set it all up to how to make it magical) just talk to me, and i can get you working for sound in one of the next productions im doing for the KIBSD or Arts Counsil... just stop me in the hallway, and give me the low down, and ill get you working with the best.

if you were interested in purchasing some equipment i could train you. You could become a dj and sit with your headphones on and act like you're cool or something and people will pay you money. I got $100 an hour once.
