the only real mic i have is my sm-57, but i have about $220 in spare cash that i some how rummaged up (i was broke like a week ago and i'm not sure how i acquired this much) and i want to get another good mic. i'm thinking maybe a good bass mic or something, but i'm willing to listen to suggestions for an addition to my family.

if you're not planning on buying for a while, I would personally go with a sennheiser 421 (dynamic) or the like (i think there're newer versions available), if I had already gotten my hands on a 57. They can be used for all sorts of things (edit: kick, toms, guitar with/without cab, snare, really anything, just don't drop it or hit it with anything) with tremendous response, but I'm not quite sure if $220 will cover it. check out the site and do your research before buying
my second choice: Pacific LD-1 (durable condensor) third: audio technica 4033 (fragile condensor with unbelievable clarity in acoustics and vocals with a wind screen)
all of these mics look somewhat similar to each other
happy shopping!
