I guess my sense of humor is a bit rusty.

from what i gather, math rock is 20 year old men who grew out of emo and pop punk but still want to be trendy, so they make gay music and expect people to listen to it not because it has lots of emotion or anything but because it is in time signatures other than 4/4.
that is funny to me.

I like the math rock I listen to because it speaks to me, as does the rest of my music. I don't care if it's math rock or punk or prog or alternative or whatever. I listen to music because it speaks to me, not because it's been labeled as a specific genre.

I was speaking figuratively, as I'm sure you're aware.

what's cool about any music? lots of things. the amount of facial hair the members of the band have, how much distortion various instruments have, the bpm, wether im in the band or not any combination of these things and many other things make music cool.

what makes anything cool, then? thinking something is cool is a response to finding certain characteristics and attributes appealing. different people find different things appealing, so cool is subjective. music is subjective. art is subjective. emotion and expression is subjective.
this is really an entirely different topic than the title of this thread.

theres no such thing as subjective. subjective is a disease that creeps into people who have weak minds. people with strong minds realize that i am right, and i leave no room for subjectiveness.

Roots, Rock, & Reggae Monday night. I won't be there, except maybe fo rthe last hour and a half, but my dad will be playing music, and maybe Miranda. It's new rock, so give a listen. It's usually pretty good stuff.

Ryan is playing music right now. He's playing a bunch of light indie rock.

I'll be doing Showtunes for sure this Thursday. I would invite people to help, but no one seems to like show tunes here.

I am waiting for Laura Ranney to get back actually. She's at fish camp right now. Yeah, but I am doing the Roots, Rock, and Reggae show tonight with Mr. Andresen. If Mr. Biessel wants to stop by, he may.

To everyone who reads this, I'm looking for recordings of local bands to play on the radio, just because I think we need to let people know that Kodiak has a music scene, and now because it looks like Ryan and Takashi are going to be doing the indie music show pretty regularly, we can play then.
