ok, if this place is going to get any bigger, i think an official site is needed. this will be an interactive site and everything. for this to happen i'm asking for donations. it's $10.00 a month for hosting and $25.00 a year for protection. i will definitely put up money if people put some up as well. i will pay the $25 protection fee as well as the first month of hosting if people are willing to pitch in as well. i only want to go into this knowing i have backing, and i think it will be worth it. donators will recieve a ktownmc.com email address as well "membership status" which gives you the oppurtunity to sit in on decision making and such as far as the site goes. i think we'll keep these forums up, though i have thought about php forums. the main reason i think we need a main site is for advertisement purposes. www.ktownmc.com is short and simple and it won't confuse people when they go there and see a normal site layout. this unlimited package includes 20 GB of storage unlimited transfers site design tools such as macromedia dreamweaver and microsoft front page. scripting and database tools emails

Count me in. $10 a month is nothing. The main thing I want is a site that is appropriate to advertise to the community. Basically, this site is awesome, but it isn't community-friendly.

shit. the details i listed above are for the $20.00 a month option. the one that's $10 a month :
1 GB of storage email 20GB transfer rate a month design and scripting tools listed above.
just a slight downgrade.
unlimited transfer rate and 20 GB of storage are the only differences between the $10 and $20.

Do we need 20GB of storage or unlimited transfer? I'd be willing to go with $20 a month if we need the stuff.

i only thought that would be cool if we wanted to host mp3's, but i think it'd be just good to use it as a platform for links to bands' purevolume, garageband, myspace, soundclick, whatever pages and people could get songs there.
meaning, the $10 option is just as good.

I'm willing to help out. The problem is that neither Ande, Forrest, or myself are going to be actually on Kodiak. We're going to be off at college elsewhere (and along with that the time restraints that accompany it). Whether this is a problem or not, I dunno.

a website can be run from anywhere, and i'll be here for the summer (hopefully. it's all about a job) anyway, so that's good enough for a test run i think.

Not sure if I'm correct, but he might have meant that he couldn't get the money to you (or whoever). Easy to do over some internet thing, such as Paypal though.

I... I'm pretty sure I have... yeah, I've got a few dollars, and, Ande, you're coming to Western, correct? I'll buy you a sandwich or something every now and then. Or if you'd rather, I'll slip a dollar under your keyboard every month or so.

what host are you thinking of going with. I gave you a couple that I know of that seem fine to me, at much less of a price. Webhostingbuzz is one. It offers 1.5 GB Space, 30 GB Monthly Traffic, and free setup for 3 bucks a month. For 1 dollar more you get 1 more GB of space and 10 GB more traffic. This continues up that trend up to 7 dollars a month. I'm contacting others right now on other options, i'll get back on this. also, i'd gladly help on any setup that's needed. Just give a hoot!
