Last night, as many on the forums are aware, was the day of the second annual Thorstock Music Festival and Barbecue at the home Thor Jones. The show started a bit after seven with the performance of the national anthem by myself and was followed by some instru-Metal music played by Jackson Bolger (drums) and myself (guitar). We played "Raining Blood", "The Final Countdown", and "Iron Man". It rocked pretty awesome. Then the Defacadets stepped in and kicked everyone's ass with punk classics such as "Your Daddy was a Rich Man", "We're the Meatmen, and You Suck", and a few others. Then there was kind of a little confusion as to what was going to happen while we waited for Logan to retrieve our German. Eventually, our German arrived and the Super Groove Operators managed what may be their final public operation. They performed Super Groove classics such as "Fire Alarm" and "Funk'o'Saur" as well as newer operations such as "Bounce" and "Minnesota Soupe." By this time, there was a crowd of roughly twenty people standing around Thor's yard eating burgers and hanging out. Many other people got up to rock, such as Jackson, Valentin, Logan and myself performing what is referred to as "Prince of Persia Metal", followed by Jackson (keyboards), myself and Logan performing Jackson's video game Metal piece. After that, it kind of fell apart and a bunch of people went home so we decided to go downtown and play capture the flag. We got downtown and then decided Near Island would be a bette place. We went there, played for a while, then I went home at about eleven thirty. I know I left some crap out so Alex can fill in some holes or maybe Miranda. All were disappointed at the absence of Forrest, but we overcame it to put on one awesome Music Festival/Barbecue.
