cause you're full of sh** I agree completely. No argument should be based on berating your opponents by saying they are full of shit. Now please, keep it civil. This is a debate, not a game of "he started it."

i didnt ask for any of that. all i asked was that you read www.josephlied.com and dispel at least some of the things he says. from what you sound like, you shouldnt have any problem doing it, so why don't you? afraid of what you might find? and i didnt have a "predisposed" opinion towards mormons. i talked to lots of people about it and read lots of stuff about it and i came to my on conclusion that mormonism is full of shit. at the very least, you think its wrong and it strengthens your faith. what have you got to lose

But in fact I did dispel some rumors. Yes I did go there, and yes there are some things I shall have to research more deeply. But that does not change my faith in this gospel. The answers are not apparent to me now, and may not be until Christ comes again. All will be made clear at that time, all uncertainty. Only time will tell. There are some things us mortals cannot begin to comprehend, so if there are loopholes, I don't think they can really be called that. We'll all know the whole of everything eventually. I do not need to prove those rumors wrong to strengthen my faith. If you're so eager for somebody else to do so, why don't you do it yourself, or talk to the missionaries, as I'm sure they've encountered this site many a time and probably more adept at responding to it than I. My faith doesn't solely rely upon doctrine. Doctrine, that no, I do not know perfectly. Nobody knows anything perfectly except Heavenly Father. My faith comes from the love I feel even when it seems the world has abandoned me, that when I feel suicidal and ugly, and sad, one simple prayer fills me with love so deep and a comforting knowledge that everything will work out okay, and that he is rooting for me up there. It comes from the knowledge that my family and I can be together for all eternity. It comes from the knowledge that I can be forgiven for all my petty sins, because Christ suffered for them already. It comes from the Holy Ghost that guides me in all my doings in subtle ways. It comes from my parents personal revelation that has changed my life for the better. It comes from many things. But one thing it does not come from is being able to say I can prove everything wrong on some stupid hatesite created by a person so shallow as to so crudely demean somebody elses beliefs just because they didn't happen to like them. So, please, do NOT challenge my faith, just because I don't know all the answers like the back of my hand.

It was just an excuse to have a shitload of wives. In other words, invented just for sex really. They practiced polygamy because at that time it was politically necessary as women had no power without a husband, and for other reasons of which you can research yourself if you truly care. Polygamy was officially renounced long ago and anybody who practices it now is excommunicated and not a TRUE member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

jesus fucking christ
"So, please, do NOT challenge my faith"
am i think only one who realizes how ridiculous that is?
still, you haven't read the site. if you did, you would have known that the guy who wrote it was a mormon from when he was born until he was almost 50, then he started to actually look at it. all of the information wasnt compiled to prove someone wrong out of spite, it was compiled for him while he was researching his own faith. he just published it on the internet so others can see what made him change his faith. there is nothing "crude" on his website, which you dont know because you still havent read it.
read it. what are you afraid of? trust your god and open your mind

You've proved my point. You've already come to your own conclusions, so why are you challenging mine? Are you trying to make me see a light that isnt there? Even if it was, the shades would not be pulled by somebody who antagonized me and my current beliefs from the get go. I don't listen to people who say I'm full of sh**

im not challenging you, im asking you to clarify. something you still haven't done at all. something i dont think you can do, or you would have already. this is something i have encountered with every single mormon iv ever talked to. they hear something that is against the church, no matter how valid, and automatically assume it isnt true before they even look into it. thats exactly what you're doing. i'm asking you to show me the light of mormonism by dispelling everything in www.josephlied.com, but for some reason you are refusing to do it. do you not want me to be "saved"? mormons are some of themost close minded people in the world, and you're just proving it more.

I've already said I do not want to debate with you. Of course I cannot prove everything on that site wrong. I'm not a supergenius, I'm not perfect, and I don't know my doctrine like the back of my hand. I'm sure some of it is unexplainable at this time, but one must have faith that all will be made apparent eventually. Our gospel is not based on knowledge, it is based on faith. I consider myself to be rather openminded actually, as I have explored many different faiths, attending probably almost every church on this island, investigating many faiths, even wiccan as odd as that sounds. Of course, it is not for me to say, I suppose. Please, Mr. Yeti. I do not know what you are trying to accomplish. If you are simply denouncing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, then so be it. You have every right, but don't expect to prove your point off of me. I am not trying to "save" you. We don't "save" people, but of course you should know that since you seem to know so much about our religion. I should think that an openminded person would make their decisions not just by listening to the talk of members and such, but perhaps attending a meeting, Just because they are members doesn't mean they iknow the gospel as good as they should. Now, please. No more. I do not want to argue. It will accomplish nothing.

"I don't know, so ask a missionary or pastor, because he's the only one who can properly interpret my religion for me." Do you realize how blind you are being? Alex is giving you perfectly valid arguments, all of which i happen to agree fulyl with, and all you are doing is shrugging your shoulders, because you have nothing but your blind faith, and no way to explain it or justify it to anyone. if that doesn't mean anything to you, maybe this will. You just sent Alex to mormon hell by not reading thats ite and disproving it for him. it ook the time to actually read it this morning, and it made me decide to post, because frankly I'm pretty disgusted with your ignorance. Ignorance by choice. It's the halmark of a true disciple of organized religion. Myabe you can come visit me and Alex in mormon hell.

Candace, why won't you visit josephlied.com? The way you talk on this site, it seems like your conviction is so strong, that you can look at this information and not stray away from your beliefs, continuing to believe that you indeed have found the right sect. Yet you said:
I consider myself to be rather openminded actually, as I have explored many different faiths, attending probably almost every church on this island, investigating many faiths, even wiccan as odd as that sounds.
Why would you investigate other faiths, especially Wiccan? Could it be possible that you aren't entirely sure that mormons are right? Are you afraid that if you go to josephlied.com, you will waver away from your faith? Yeti is actually making a good argument, and all he wants you to do is further your education. Shouldn't a believer always have a thirst for knowlede, especially about their God?

I was discussing mormanism with a mormon friend of mine and I asked her to confirm or deny the rumor I heard that if a morman was especially good and faithful that the ultimate goal would be to rule their own planet. She confirmed. Thinking this was absolutely absurd, I asked another mormon friend of mine. He confirmed as well. I had no response to either of them afterward because I don't sincerely call my friends stupid. Are they stupid?

Maybe the question wasn't clear. Is it a belief of mormonism that you'll be entitled your own planet if you live a good mormon life? Or are these two friends/acquaintences confused with their religion?
