why the hell were haiku's invented and why are they accepted as poetry? any dumbass can come up with a haiku, as we've proved here multiple times. the 5/7/5 thing doesnt sound cooler than any other random combinations of syllables, yet there are people out there who actually believe they are real poetry.
god damn. this reminds me how much i hate poetry and poets.

www.ahapoetry.com/haidefjr.htmYou could check that out. Also, keep in mind that haiku was invented for Japanese, not English, so we probably aren't really doing them much justice anyway. Their sentence structure and general vocabulary is a lot different than ours, so I'm guessing that the haiku format probably works better with their language anyway. Plus, think how pretty their haiku must be written down in their nice calligraphic characters.

ya, maybe it was poetic in japanese but there is nothing poetic about it in english, so people need to stop accepting it as real poetry in english.

wow. i just read that link, and it further proves my point that haiku's arent real poetry in english. the whole point of them is missed in english, so people need to stop writing haiku's and thinking that it makes them poets. the only way haikus can be used in english is as a joke.

I am fairly sure no one here has claimed to be a Haiku poet.

Quit hating everything, Alex. It makes you look like an idiot. You're not an idiot, are you?
