I've been a long-time closet fan, but I don't have any closets anymore. The drumming is incredibly professional and calculated and rocking, all at once (a tough combo), the guitars have some really umphy dirty tone, and I want to eat them. The bass tends to be a little flat, but it gets the job done. And the vocals, wow. I'm learning a lot from this guy. I'm in a Perfect Circle phase these days, but I'm beginning to hope it's not a passing one.

I love them too. They are amazing. You left out the lyrics, too. Wonderful lyrics. When they first came out I thought "great. Maynard James Keenan needs some more cash so he recruits some wannabe Tool members and makes Tool: Part Deux." I was wrong. They are different from Tool in so many ways. I would still rather see Tool live, but these guys are amazing. I missed them live by barely a day once. They were playing in Kansas as I boarded a flight to Nebraska here in Kodiak. Man. Their new album is cool too. Pretty interesting covers.

The vocals in their entirety, lyrics included. I guess that's not too commonly implied.

If I had re-read your post I probably would have gotten it. No big deal though.

Why couldn't they get a better snare sound for Thirteenth Step? And the toms are all pretty dead too! I don't get it. I thought this was major label. Superb kick though. And everything else.

I read he was a problem child and a bit of a music whore. Billy came to HIM for his talents. I will be Freese someday. A new Billy Howerdel will come to me.

They engineered the guitars really cool at the end of the first part right after the intro of The Hollow. The arpeggio technique dubbed twice, panned out hard, then right before the chorus, they pulsate a bit in opposite timing with each other. Try it with headphones and pay attention to it. It's really cool.

Wow. You surprise me all the time, Alex. I honestly didn't suspect you of having such broad tastes.

A lot of people like A Perfect Circle. That's not very broad.

It indeed is. It is the only original song on there, unless you count the remix of Pet, titled Counting Bodies like Sheep.

Yeah, I knew it was a cover. I forgot who though. It's a cool song. I love Thirteenth Step. Very cool theme album.
