haha, weezer rocks. im listening to pinkerton, but i havent listened to these guys in so long. its crazy. i would suggest to all of you who formerly listened to weezer, download some, take out your old weezer cds, whatever, and listen. listen to the weezer, and respect it. for a long time i would say that weezer was gay, because i was being dumb. but now i respect them yet again, they are awesome.

I only like "My Name is Jonas"
maybe a couple off Pinkerton, but I've only heard it maybe twice.

The Blue album was one of the greatest pieces of music from the 90s I think. When I first discovered it, that was all I listened to (or seemed that way) for a while. Pinkerton is alright, the Green one had a few good ones (tho not too many) and I honestly haven't really heard anything off of Maladroit.
Their new one looks promising though. I've heard the "Beverly Hills" single from it and its okay.
Man, Say It Ain't So is such a good song.

Newer Vinyl recordings have higher sound quality, but Vinyl is still overrated. It's nothing special, just kind of cool.

I think it's really cool how that little needle bounces around and duplicates the waveform. I can sit and listen to vinyl for a while thinking about that the whole time. Sometimes I do that without vinyl spinning.

I really like the scratchyness of the vinyl starting up, and the background noise of it, plus, apparently it has higher sound quality, I just like the way a vinyl record sounds compared to a cd.

Vinyl in top shape does have a magical sound that CDs just cant replicate. I was listening to Santana's Abraxas on vinyl one night at a friends place. It was so chillin. Some of the CD remasters just are so flat compared to vinyl they were originally released on.
There's a certain quality on a brand new piece of vinyl no CD will ever replicate.

It's an extremely subtle difference. Why doen't you guys stop acting like it's a huge goddamn deal? CDs have excellent soudn quality, a subtley better quality is no big deal. Vinyl is cool, but it's not special by any means.

anyways, Weezer... I love Weezer, and if you haven't checked out their new CD, it's pretty good, they have it here at KMXT on CD and vinyl now.
The only thing I like about vinyl is that it makes cool bowls ;D

There are some albums that are recorded digitally and transcribed to both CD and vinyl. If you listen to the CD, no quality is lost. On the vinyl, quality is lost because it goes through yet one more medium to read the information: the needle (which is an imperfect reader of digital information). But some people love the old-fashioned sound of the needle. I like it, but I'd much rather listen to something with the quality preserved so I can analyze it as it was meant to be put out. Depends on the album or the artist or if I've already decided I don't have anything left to learn from it, which is rare.

Given the option, what I would do is transcribe vinyl to cd, via turntable to computer, and then burn the cd, which I've done before, you still get the needle sound, which is quite cool.
