that little mac seems like it's target consumer is the ignoramus. it's kind of a stupid machine with no mouse or monitor or keyboard, it can only be a part of a custom made station which in that case, why not have a larger hard drive with higher capabilities?

A lot of computers don't come with monitors. People wanted an imac-like machine without a monitor.
Now, leaving the mouse and keyboard out doesn't make tons of sense, but it gives the consumer a choice I guess (get a 2 button mouse!). The deletion of those probably let them make it under the $500 barrier.
Besides, targeting the ignorant people isn't so bad an idea. Look at how many people buy those piece of shit value PCs. Apple's just trying to make inroads there.

i know it's a good marketing technique, but it's just not respectable
usually when buying a mac, you're looking for a monitor included (these days). custom mac systems are usually pretty kick ass, at least from what i've seen. that's one of the only reasons i can think you might make yourself a custom mac system is if you want something kick ass, which i'm not sure the mini can offer
